Welcome to Forest Friends, a unique classroom nestled within a beautiful wooden gazebo, inspired by the Steiner and Waldorf approach to education. Forest Friends is a place where children can nurture their love of nature through play, exploration, and active learning.
Surrounded by the outdoors, each day offers opportunities to connect with the natural world, sparking awe, wonder, and curiosity. Free play, fresh air, and hands-on experiences are at the heart of our practice, with our skilled and passionate educators gently guiding children through meaningful activities that support their physical, social, and cognitive growth. Forest Friends is not just a classroom, but a space where imaginations flourish and lifelong friendships are formed.
“My child loves being part of the outdoor classroom, he gets to explore nature and make a mess. Being outside all day means the environment is constantly changing which is really stimulating for children and has fantastic effects on their brain development. Being outside also helps to boost vitamin D levels and melatonin production, meaning that he settles to bed well and sleeps more soundly, he is calmer at the end of the day because he has been well stimulated. I can see the difference in him from when he has had days where he has been inside all day. I’m so happy that L is part of the outdoor classroom, I believe he has more learning opportunities being out there and nature provides the rest resources for learning we could use! The outdoor classroom has been a fantastic addition to an already outstanding nursery.”
